Toulon lose 9-25 at the Stade Mayol in the Top 14 opener

Racing 92 won 25-9 at the Stade Mayol in the 2018-2019 Top 14 opener.
Even though the players from suburban Paris dominated the first half, our men in red and black showed unrelenting courage and, thanks to Carbonel’s kicks, were leading 6-3 when the siren blew.
Early in the second half, the Toulon players were more ambitious, but Malakai Fekitoa picked up a yellow card for a dangerous tackle – the turning point in the game. As the All-Black centre was sitting on the bench for ten minutes, our men in red and black conceded two tries and Racing 92 then had a comfortable lead.
Despite a last-gasp reaction, the Toulon players conceded another try after a ball was intercepted. This ensured their opponents’ victory (9-25).
The team and the staff will continue their work to try to get a result in Pau, next Saturday.
