Toulon win 22-3 against Grenoble at the Stade Mayol and grab a bonus point

Rugby Club Toulonnais won against Grenoble 22-3 at the Stade Mayol, last Saturday, thus securing a precious bonus point.
Toulon desperately needed points and got off to a flying start: they dominated the game, but could not score a single point, despite controlling the ball for eight minutes in their opponent’s side.
Toulon and Grenoble then spent the rest of the first half kicking the ball, without posing a real threat to each other. There were very few mistakes in the first half from both teams, who were tied 3 apiece at half-time.
Our men in red and black played differently in the second half: at the 47th minute, Swan Rebbadj charged down a kick and passed the ball to Mathieu Bastareaud, who scored a try. Toulon’s confidence was given a boost and, at the 54th minute, Eric Escande passed the ball to Josua Tuisova, who charged through the Grenoble backline to score another try.
As the siren blew, France hooker Guilhem Guirado scored a third one after several successive moves, giving Toulon the bonus point.
Grenoble take Toulon’s thirteenth spot in the Top 14, while the latter go up to tenth spot.
Next Saturday, our men in red and black play a home game against Montpellier in the Champions Cup.
