The reactions after the Toulon vs. Montpellier game.

Here are the main reactions after the victory of our men in red and black against Montpellier, last Sunday afternoon, in Marseille.
Diego Dominguez, RCT manager: “It’s a splendid victory. The most important is that we had the spirit to play together, with spontaneity. We have to admit our backline was better than our frontline, but we nonetheless scored three tries. Now, we’ll be playing an away game against La Rochelle and we have to see who are the fittest players, in order to line up the best possible team.”
Jake White, Montpellier manager: “Toulon are used to playing this kind of game, in as big a stadium, in front of so many of their supporters. Those factors cannot be neglected. It would have been pretentious to think we were going to win easily over such a team: it took them ten years to get there. The Toulon side was very strong and it just wasn’t our day.”
Mamuka Gorgodze, RCT lock and flanker: “Playing against Montpellier is always special for me. My heart belongs to this club, as I learnt how to play top-level rugby there. In those cases, the best I can do is respect the team while giving my best. It’s a good thing for us to win against a strong side of Top 14.”
Jimmy Yobo, RCT centre: “We’ve got our season started. It’s true we were much criticized after the first games but, if we look at it closely, we’re still in the running for the top spots. We’ll keep on working to repeat this kind of performance. In the course of a season, there are deciding moments and it was perhaps the defeat against Brive that spurred us to play with more envy.”
Fulgence Ouedraogo, Montpellier flanker: “We tried to resist with our physical force, but we made too many mistakes and couldn’t put the pressure on them. We were up against a great team: the players’ motivation to win at home was so high that it was very difficult to play against them.”
