The reactions after Montpellier vs. Toulon

Here are the main reactions after a bonus point for defence was brought back from Montpellier, on Friday evening, after the game played on Day 14 of the Top 14.
Mike Ford, RCT manager: “We shot ourselves in the foot in the first half and gave too many points away. But I was struck by the fighting spirit we showed in the second half: we succeeded in grabbing the bonus point for defence after trailing 33-15.”
Ayumu Goromaru, RCT fullback: “I made too many mistakes and I am largely responsible for this defeat. That’s quite irritating and there’s no need to look for excuses. When the coach includes a player within the team, the player has to deliver. You have to play well and help keep up the level of the team. It hasn’t been my case, I know it perfectly. Everything is easier at the Stade Mayol, with the help of the supporters, but this doesn’t account for our poor performances in away games for the matter. We know what we have to do and we’ll have to continue our work.”
Mathieu Bastareaud, RCT centre: “This bonus point for defence is a good thing for the team. We almost made all the mistakes that shouldn’t be done. We couldn’t keep the ball, we gave points away but, despite all this, we did not lose hope and grabbed one point. This is positive: even with a few changes in the team composition, we showed we still had fighting spirit. So, we’ll have to settle with the bonus point only few teams have been able to bring back from Montpellier.”
Fulgence Ouedraogo, Montpellier flanker: “We could have secured the win and the bonus point if we had scored a fourth try, but this Toulon team never gives up. We are quite disappointed about giving away the bonus point for defence after a few mistakes towards the end of the game, but still, we are satisfied with this success.”
