The Toulon junior players qualify for the French League final!

Last Sunday, in Sorgues, in the department of Vaucluse, our junior players won 17-0 against Montpellier in the semi-final of the French League and will play the final against La Rochelle, on Sunday, May 12th – the venue is still to be announced.
Despite the harsh wind blowing in the Rhône valley, our junior players started the game quite well and had possession in their opponent’s side. At the 9th minute, captain William Van-Bost pierced through the Montpellier backline and just had to give the ball to Julien Ory, who scored the first try of the game. It was not converted.
After a ruck, hooker Bastien Reynaud scored the game’s second try and Toulon, who led 10-0, already had a small cushion.
The Montpellier players started the second half with the will to turn the game upside down, but solid defending by Toulon thwarted their attempts.
At the 60th minute, after a counter-attack, Simon Moretti scored the game’s third and final try, then converted by Mathieu Smaili! From then on, the Toulon junior players did their best to keep the ball and not commit any mistake when they did not have possession. The backline was heroic and the team held out until the final whistle was blown! In front of numerous supporters who had come to Sorgues, the players could now celebrate their victory!
