The declarations ahead of Toulon vs Lyon

Here are the main declarations of the Toulon staff and players ahead of the Toulon vs Lyon game, #RCTLOU, next Saturday, at the Stade Mayol (Day 18 of the Top 14; kick-off time: 8.45 p.m. CET).
Mike Ford, RCT manager: “We took advantage of the week’s rest to recuperate and continue our work. It almost felt like a second off-season and it was interesting to have more time to work. The game against La Rochelle left a bitter taste: they are a good side, but we didn’t play well at all. We’ve kept thinking about it for the last two weeks and we want to make up for this. I also remember the first game against Lyon, back in November: we hadn’t played a good game and I don’t want to see that again.”
Liam Gill, RCT flanker: “It was a shock for us all to lose against La Rochelle and our minds were particularly affected. We kept thinking about it, but we have worked well over the last two weeks and we’re now focused on the Lyon game. The first leg against them was a painful experience for us. I was there and Harris and Fearns had put up a great performance. Our frontline had suffered and, hopefully, we’ll correct those mistakes this week-end.”
Laurent Delboulbes, RCT prop: “We made things difficult for ourselves with the defeat against La Rochelle and we definitely suffered many setbacks this year. We know one of the features of the Lyon team is the presence of many former Toulon players within its ranks, but we have to raise our game so that Mayol’s reputation as a stadium in which the opposing team doesn’t have any chance of victory is redeemed. We have to start winning again, pick up points again and find a new momentum. This is what matters now.”
