The declarations ahead of Sale vs. Toulon.

After the press conference held last Tuesday afternoon, here are the main declarations of the Toulon staff and players ahead of the Champions Cup game our team is going to play on Friday evening (kick-off time: 7:45 p.m. BST, 8:45 CET).
Diego Dominguez, RCT manager: “Our team spirit has not changed. Of course, the home defeat against Saracens was disappointing: we didn’t want things to go this way, but we were up against a very good team. Our first half was very poor and we paid for it. Now, we have to take responsibility for the defeat and prepare for the game at Sale. Nothing’s over yet, there’s everything to play for and we’ll fight to go through to the quarter-finals.”
Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, RCT flanker: “Things are simple, it’s like last year all over again: we’ll have to win the next five games. It’s very simple: we’ll have to do it. The side who loses on Friday shall be eliminated and we don’t want to be eliminated. What is driving us? The thought of a quarter-final! This is all what is driving us. We’ve not played consistently well since the beginning of the season and we have to correct this.”
Bryan Habana, RCT wing: “I always try to see the positive side of things. I try to see the positive side in the events that concern me and, as for now, I remember that, last year, we were able to bounce back after our defeat against Wasps. We can repeat the same thing this year.”
James O’Connor, RCT wing and fullback: “When we manage to play together well, we fear no team whatsoever! Many of our players picked up injuries since the season started: as they’re newcomers and have to fit into the team, this is not easy. Those are not excuses, just explanations. We want to reach the knock-out stages of the Top 14 and of the Champions Cup. To do so, we have to win all the remaining games and we know it. We’ll give everything we have!”
The integrality of this press conference was broadcast live on rctoulon.com and you can watch its highlights as well.
