The declarations ahead of La Rochelle vs. Toulon.

Here are the main declarations of the Toulon staff and players at the Top 14 pre-game press conference. Your men in red and black play against La Rochelle on Saturday, October 8th (kick-off time: 8:45 p.m.), on Day 8 of the Top 14.
Diego Dominguez, RCT manager: “We’re not thinking about Saracens at all, we’re only thinking about La Rochelle. For the moment, we have picked 35 players, because we don’t know yet who the fittest ones will be. Ayamu Goromaru has been included into the group. I’m amazed by this player: he trains well, he is serious, tough, and many people will be surprised. La Rochelle had already played well last year. Their team has been doing constant progress over the last three years, they know one another, they have a solid frontline and their backline moves quickly. World-class players were added to the squad and it is a very good team.”
Jimmy Yobo, RCT centre and wing: “We were satisfied with the game in Marseille. We had been feeling great for a few weeks, we could get back on the right track after our defeat against Brive and, collectively, it was one of our best games so far. I feel very lucky to play those games: for me, there’s no pressure, just positive things.”
Florian Frésia, RCT prop: “We’re beginning to find automatic reflexes and that’s a good thing. Against La Rochelle, there’ll be a physical challenge, just like against Montpellier, but our lines will also have to move. The La Rochelle players have started their season really well, they’re present in all the sectors of the game. Now, they’re ranked second, near the top of the table, and this is going to be a tough game.”
Marcel Van der Merwe, RCT prop: “I get to realise that all the Top 14 teams are hard to play against. Montpellier was one of them, particularly at the front, but we could raise our game and beat them. Winning this game and the one against Clermont was very important for our morale, but we keep our feet on the ground. We’re taking the games one after the other and, as for now, we’re concentrated on the one against La Rochelle.”
