The Rugby Club Toulonnais responds to the decision of the DNACG, the French Financial Control Panel for rugby union
Today, the Rugby Club Toulonnais has been informed of the decision of the DNACG, which was delivered by the French Rugby League in the following terms:
“After the inspection carried out by the Deloitte audit firm regarding the respect of the Salary Cap rules by all Top 14 clubs in the course of the 2014-2015 season, the case of the Rugby Club Toulonnais was referred to the DNACG Council by the National Rugby League board, on June 28th, 2016.
After hearing the representatives of the club, on July 19th, the DNACG Council recorded that the sum spent on player contracts exceeded the one set forth in the Salary Cap rules regarding the 2014-2015 season. As a consequence, the council delivered a verdict whereby the Rugby Club Toulonnais would be fined 100,000 euros.An appeal can be lodged before the Financial Court of Appeal of the French Rugby Federation.”
The Rugby Club Toulonnais responded in the following terms:
“Being informed of the decision delivered by the DNACG regarding the Rugby Club Toulonnais, the club now wishes to make it known that, while the club has not been officially notified of the afore-mentioned decision, that the club strongly objects to it and will resort to every means of appeal against this decision.”
