Fabien Galthié to take charge of RCT sporting section next season

Fabien Galthié is to take the reins of the whole sporting section of Rugby Club Toulonnais when the 2016-2017 draws to an end. Fabrice Landreau and Marc Dal Maso shall be his assistants and the latter is to keep his role within the premier team.
Next summer, Fabien Galthié will be in charge of building up his own technical staff – including the coaching staff, the fitness coaches and the team doctors. He and Fabrice Landreau both signed a two-year contract.
A former scrum-half and French international, Fabien Galthié successively played for Colomiers and Stade Français Paris. He embraced coaching as a career as soon as 2004 with Stade Français Paris, before he signed with Montpellier in 2010. As a manager, he won the Top 14 in 2007 and took Stade Français to the Top 14 and H-Cup finals in 2005. He also took Montpellier to the Top 14 final in 2011. For many years, he has been working as a television, radio and press consultant.
A former hooker and French international, Fabrice Landreau successively played for Angoulême, Grenoble, Neath, Bristol, Racing CF and Stade Français Paris. He began his coaching career as the forwards coach at Stade Français Paris in 2004, then was the Grenoble manager from 2009 to 2016. He won the Top 14 in 2007 with Stade Français Paris – part of the coaching team headed by Fabien Galthié – and took the team to the Top 14 and H-Cup finals in 2005. At Grenoble, he won promotion from Pro D2 – the French second division – to Top 14 in 2012 and succeeded in maintaining the club in the top flight the four following years – claiming 10th place once and 11th place three times.
