Chris Ashton: "Scoring tries is my job"

Chris Ashton, who scored three tries last Saturday at the Stade Mayol, when Toulon won 43-5 against Stade Français, has now scored seventeen tries in fourteen games. This should be a source for satisfaction, but he preferred to stress team work in the post-game press conference.
Chris, you have now scored seventeen tries in fourteen games. What do you think about these figures?
Of course, I’m very happy about it. It was one of my goals when I signed for Toulon: scoring as many tries as possible for this team including excellent players. As a wing, I just put the finishing touch to the moves initiated by my team-mates.
Do you know that Napolioni Nalaga scored a record twenty-one tries?
I’m not paying much attention to this. I’m just trying to score as many tries as possible. It’s part of my job as a wing. Nalaga is a great player. Am I going to beat his record? I don’t know, we’ll see.
Fabien Galthié says you will beat the record…
That’s very kind! I hope so, too, but as long as we win, that’s what matters most. As, and I’ve already said, I’m doing my job during the games, that’s what I’m here for.
Are you addicted to scoring tries?
Exactly! I’m elated every time I cross the line.
The whole team really delivered against Stade Français…
They did! After two week-ends without playing, a comfortable victory at home was the ideal way to resume things. We now have two crucial away games, against La Rochelle and Lyon. So, we had to play well today.
