Fabrice Landreau : "Toulon play every game seriously"

Fabrice Landreau, Toulon’s forwards coach, took part in the pre-game press conference ahead of the away game against Clermont, on Day 2 of the Top 14.
Fabrice, is it the right time to face Clermont?
The most important for us, I think, is to build on the promises shown against Pau. Unfortunately, we wasted many balls in the first game, particularly when we could have scored. We’ll have to make up for this and try to challenge Clermont in the most committed way.
What is the ideal way to prepare for this game? Are changes in the line-up necessary?
We can’t throw any game away at the moment. First, because we can’t include all the players in our squad: a few of them are still injured and we can’t make many changes. Then, because we are Toulon: given our status, we have to play every game seriously and do our best to win all the time.
Could you say a few words about Chris Ashton, who scored two tries last Sunday, on his debut at the Stade Mayol?
We already knew Chris was a great player. He is a real asset, not only as a man, but he also brings a lot of energy on the pitch. He is to rugby union what [Radamel] Falcao is to football – a forward who knows how to score goals. He knows what he has to do and seizes every opportunity to score a try. And, what is even more interesting, he makes you think about the game and the way we play. Even when he doesn’t have the ball, he wants to know what he can do to improve our game plan and this is very helpful.
